Music

So iI was recently told that music wasn't important to today's life. I myself am a music person all around i sing, dance, listen, play insturments, you name anything in music I can pretty much do it. I loved music since i was old enough to memorize songs and sing them. As soon as i could start playing an insturment I picked one up and started on the Flute and i love it to this day. Most of my friends are music people too. About a year or more ago our school has been pushing our music away i feel because honestly we don't bring much money to the school. I think that there are enough students in our music program that we shouldn't be having issues though. I can see giving more money to another sport but the only sport our school mainly supports is football, all the other activities have to work for themselves to earn money. It's not fair to us who love music wether it's singing or playing an insturment. There is a boy in my grade in my school who I had no idea he could even read music, but to come to find out he plays piano AMAZINGLY. Now thats the reason there are so many hidden talents don't share becuse their friends make fun of them for doing something they enjoy and might be concidered a "Band Nerd" or "Music Geek" and those people are wrong. Music can help in so many areas you don't believe. one fact a Music Director once told me was "Music makes you smarter because you have to add ,count ,read, translate, and ect." this teacher is right too! What I don't understand is if it helps you why are they taken Music away from us it's not right and it's not fair at all.
